MADDEN NFL 08 Father?s Day Contest

2007 Official Rules

1. Entry. To enter the Madden NFL 08 Father?s Day contest (the ?Contest), visit www.easports.com/maddennfl/fathersday (the ?Site?) and click the button labeled, ?EMAIL YOUR SUBMISSION? to submit your first name, last initial, or the first name, last initial of the father you?re nominating (if not yourself), your date of birth, mail and email address and your ?Father of the Year? essay as a text, audio, or video file** detailing why you or your nominee deserves to be recognized as the Madden NFL 08 ?Father of the Year? via email to, maddenfathersday@ea.com (collectively, the ?Entry? or ?Entries?) as directed anytime between 12:00:01 a.m. PDT June 6, 2007 and 11:59 p.m. PDT June 18, 2007 (the ?Contest Period?). No other methods of entry will be accepted.

**Father of the Year Submission Guidelines
Using your own words, create a humorous text, audio, or video essay, telling us why you (or the father you?re nominating) should be named the Madden NFL 08 ?Father of the Year.? Your submission should also describe your nominee?s knowledge of or experience with Madden NFL football video games. Written, text essays must be five-hundred (500) words or less and submitted (pasted) within the body of the email. . No photos are required. If you choose to include a photo within your submission, the image must include only your likeness, no other person. Audio submissions must contain only your voice and must be no longer than five (5) minutest in length. Video submissions must be no longer than five (5) minutes in length and include video capture of only yourself, no other person can appear within the video All submitted files, regardless of type, must be sized no larger than 5 MB. Your submitted ?Father of the Year? written essay, audio, video, or photo Entry must be in the English language and consist only of your own original and previously unpublished work (?Original Creations?). Madden NFL video games are typically rated E (Everyone) by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. Therefore, all Entries submitted content must contain no pornography and be appropriate for audiences at least six (6) years of age, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Submission of previously published works is prohibited. Entries that incorporate non-Original Creations, or other prohibited content will not be accepted for entry in this Contest. Prohibited content includes but is not limited to: non-Original Creations, including third party creations, trademarks, names, or other third party property(ies), or the work of creative consultants, or the likenesses of any persons other than the individual Entrant, or any content that is pornographic, or is otherwise not appropriate for audiences aged at least six (6) years, or that otherwise in Sponsor's sole and absolute discretion violates the above Guidelines and/or is not in compliance with these Official Rules.

Limit: Only one entry per username and email address will be accepted. Once an Entry has been submitted, no subsequent, or new, revised, altered, or otherwise substitute submissions by the same Entrant will be accepted. Completed Entries must be sent electronically during the Contest Period and received by 11:59 p.m. PDT on June 18, 2007. By entering, entrants warrant that their Entries contain only their own Original Creations. Entrants further warrant their submissions do not contain any third party copyrighted materials, and otherwise do not violate or infringe the rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, trademark rights or rights of publicity/privacy, of any third party. Entries must be suitable for publication (i.e. not pornographic, obscene, offensive or indecent) and must not have been submitted in other contests or been previously published.

Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Proof of submission of Contest Entry is not considered proof of delivery or receipt of such Entry by Sponsor. Use of a false email account will disqualify an Entry. Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, misdirected Entries, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, lost, late, illegible, misdirected, garbled, damaged or delayed Entries or other communications or other technical problems related to electronic or website entries. Any communication or information transmitted to Sponsor and/or the Site by electronic mail or otherwise, is and will be treated as non-confidential and nonproprietary. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any Entry containing racial or ethnic slurs, explicit language, obscene, pornographic or sexual content, or libelous, hate speech, otherwise objectionable, offensive or illegal material. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, further reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the Site, or who otherwise violates these rules. By entering, entrants accept and agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules.

2. Eligibility. This Contest is only open to individuals who are residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and Canada (except Quebec) who are thirteen (13) years of age or older at time Contest begins and who had Internet access as of May 30, 2007. Employees of Electronic Arts Inc. (?Sponsor?), and its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parents, representatives, advertising, promotion and publicity agencies (collectively, the ?Sponsor and its Agents?) and the immediate family members, and persons living in the same household of each, are not eligible. Contest is void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law. All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply.

3. Prizes. One (1) prize will be awarded. Odds of winning any prize depend upon the number of eligible Entries in the Contest, and the relative skill of each Entrant.

One (1) Grand Prize Package: One (1) winner will receive one (1) Grand Prize Package consisting of one (1) Xbox 360? Elite video game and entertainment system; Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $479.99 (USD), one (1) Madden NFL 08 video game for Xbox 360; ARV: $59.95 (USD) and one (1) Madden NFL 08 Fanatic Pack consisting of one (1) NFL mini helmet signed by Marshal Faulk; ARV: $25.99, one (1) authentic NFL football autographed by thirty-five (35) top NFL rookies; ARV: $125 (USD), and one (1) authentic NFL Team jersey, ARV: $150 (USD). The cumulative Grand Prize Package ARV: $840.93 (USD) ? actual value may vary based on perceived value of autographed items.

Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of prizes for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of approximately equal value. Game versions, including platform for play, consoles, and/or sizes, colors, or styles of NFL jersey, helmets, footballs, and any EA SPORTS branded items to be included in the Madden NFL 08 Fanatic Pack and awarded as prizes are within the sole discretion of Sponsor and subject to availability. All expenses not specified above, including, without limitation, all federal, state, provincial, and local taxes, and international tariffs, are the sole responsibility of the individual winner.

4. Winner Selection and Notification. Sponsor or its designee, the ?Contest Judge,? whose decisions are final on all matters relating to the Contest, will select in their sole and absolute discretion one (1) top Entry from all eligible Entries received based on rankings in the following criteria: 50% creativity and originality; 25% display of Madden NFL videogame knowledge or experience; and 25% Humor. In the unlikely event of a tie, winner will be selected based on the highest ranking score in the creativity and originality category. The Entry determined by the Contest Judge to rank highest using the above stated criteria will be determined winner of the Grand Prize Package.

The potential winner will be notified on or about June 22, 2007, by an email sent to the email address specified at the time of entry. If potential winner cannot be contacted at this email address, is contacted and does not respond as directed within fourteen (14) days of attempted notification, refuses the prize or is ineligible to accept the prize, prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. If winner is a minor in his or her state or province of residence, the prize will be awarded to his or her parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for signing all documents, affidavits, and releases. Only the advertised number of prizes and those claimed in accordance with the Official Rules will be awarded. Winners may be required to provide a U.S. or Canadian shipping address to claim prize. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of prize.

5. General Conditions. Sponsor and its Agents are not in any way responsible or liable for damages, loss or injury resulting from entrants? participation in this Contest, any Contest related activity, or the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use or misuse of any prizes awarded in this Contest. Entrants and winner assume sole liability and accept all risk of loss for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this Contest or the acceptance, possession, shipping and handling, loss, use or misuse of any prize awarded. Sponsor has the right to cancel, terminate or modify this Contest if it cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond Sponsor's control, including, without limitation, insufficient volume of eligible entries, and to select winner from eligible entries received on or before the termination date. Sponsor and its Agents are not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error.

By entering this Contest, each entrant grants to Sponsor the worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, right and royalty-free license (but not the obligation) to use their Entry for any purpose specifically including, but not limited to the posting, performance and use of the Entry, and, except if winner is a resident of TN or otherwise where prohibited by law, the entrant?s first and/or last name, user or screen name, hometown, place of residence, photo(s), voice and/or likeness, all on television, radio, publications and the Internet, including on Sponsor?s and/or its Agent?s respective website(s), or for any other purposes including without limitation, by making them available for download. By entering this Contest, entrants agree (a) that Sponsor and its Agents have the right to use the Entry in any and all media in and in connection with promotion, publicity, marketing and advertising for Sponsor, the Madden NFL football videogame franchise, and existing and future Madden NFL football games, this Contest or other promotions by Sponsor as Sponsor sees fit without any further attribution, notification or compensation to entrants; (b) that Sponsor and its Agents, in Sponsor?s sole discretion, may edit, adapt, composite, mix, remix, morph, scan, duplicate, alter and/or otherwise modify and commercially exploit any Entry, in whole or in part, without any restrictions as to changes, for publication or for any other purpose which Sponsor deems necessary or desirable, including, without limitation, in future publicity and advertising for Sponsor?s products and/or services, as well as in future Madden NFL football, or other videogames, or other products; (c) that Sponsor and its Agents shall have no obligation (express or implied) to use any of the Entries, in any manner and the corresponding entrants shall not be entitled to any damages or other relief by reason of Sponsor?s and/or its Agent?s use or non-use of any Entry; (d) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges; (e) to be contacted by Sponsor or its Agents by telephone, mail or email regarding this Contest and (f) to indemnify and hold Sponsor and its Agents harmless from any and all claims arising out of or relating to any breach by entrant of the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, including the representations and warranties made herein. Each entrant hereby acknowledges and agrees that the relationship between the entrant and Sponsor and its Agents, is not a confidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship. The Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and all claims must be resolved in the United States. If there is a dispute regarding the identity of an entrant, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the person in whose name the Entrant?s email account is registered.

6. Winners list. A winners list will be available at www.easports.com/maddennfl/fathersday after all winners are determined and verified, and posted for approximately two weeks and is also available by sending a stamped, self addressed envelope marked Madden NFL 08 Father?s Day Contest,? to Electronic Arts Inc., 209 Redwood Shores Parkway, Redwood City, CA 94065 to be received by 7/10/07.
