Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace 4-0 and are within a point of the lead in the Barclays Premier League. Sergio Agüero scored twice and helped to set-up David Silva’s goal in the 84th minute. City’s next match is on Saturday when they travel to Upton Park to face off against West Ham.
On Sunday, Real Madrid continued their winning ways, defeating Sporting Gijón 5-1. They saw production from all three of their core players, with Karim Benzema scoring two goals and earning one assist.
Later that day, FC Barcelona crushed Athletic Bilbao 6-0. Luis Suárez had three goals and an assist in the win. Atlético still lead the table following their 0-3 victory over Las Palmas. Barcelona sits two points back with Real a further two points behind them.
