We asked Steph Houghton what it means to be In the Game

What does it mean to you to be in FIFA 16?
It is an honour to be involved with the game and it is hugely important for the development of the women’s game. Featuring on FIFA is new to the women’s game and raises the profile for women players but also raises awareness of the game to a new audience.

Did you play video games growing up? What was your favourite game?
Anybody who has a love for football has to have grown-up playing FIFA and that would be my favourite game. I also liked to play Sonic the Hedgehog as well!!

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration would always be my family. They have helped support me and dedicate themselves to help me in my career. In a role model or sporting context then I have always admired and been inspired by David Beckham and Steven Gerrard.

What do you listen to before a game?
I don’t have a particular song or artist but I tend to listen to either dance music or some R & B music.

Pre-game meal?
My usual pre-match meal is chicken with beans. I will sometimes try other things but I mostly stck with that.

How would your teammates describe you?
I would hope that my team mates would see me as a player that is hardworking and very competitive. I would like to think that they see me as very professional in how I am on and off the pitch.

What would winning the FIFA World Cup mean to you?
Absolutely everything! It would be like your biggest dream coming true. We all want to first play for our country then represent our country at a World Cup. To play in the biggest and most important football tournament and to captain your national team fills me with so much pride and it would be truly amazing to win it but then to bring it back to England and share it with the country.
